The national touring play, Legend Of Ko’olau, is returning to Kauai for two days only on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at the Porter Pavilion at Anainahou Community Park in Kilauea. Recipient of a national grant, the play tells the historically-based story about the Kauai cowboy Kaluaiko’olau and his resistance to forces that overthrew the monarchy in 1893 and would tear apart his family and exile his son and him to the Hansen’s Disease colony on Molokai.
The play, receiving wide acclaim from mainland critics has toured Los Angeles, Berkeley, and Sacramento and performed at Kalaupapa National Park on Molokai.
Tickets are $20. For more information, go to anainahou.org/events/koolau or legendofkoolau.com/tickets or call (808) 828-2118.
