5K Resolution Run — January 7th

Event Description

Join the scenic 5K Resolution Run, at Lydgate Beach Park’s Main Pavilion, starting at 7:45 a.m. Organized as a benefit for the Puuwai Outrigger Canoe Club, the course will be along the Ke Ala Hele Makalae multi-use path. Registration runs $30. Race bibs can be picked up on Friday the 6th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the park’s pavilion, or from 6:30 to 7:30 the day of the race, same place. Walkers, strollers and leashed dogs are welcome.

Pu‘uwai Outrigger Canoe Club was founded in 1992, and is located at the mouth of the Wailua River. The non-profit strives to teach paddling skills, perpetuate the cultural significance of canoe paddling, and preserve the traditions of the past. They are committed to enhancing the well-being of our members and our community.

All proceeds from their $30 entry fee will go towards equipment that supports their adult and youth programs, and will help them fulfill their mission of encouraging athletic endeavors based on Hawaiian traditions of Aloha, Hō’ihi (respect), and Ikaika Kākāuha (Athletic Strength).
