Those living in the Wainiha and Haena areas on Kauai (north of Hanalei) are suffering the impacts of extraordinary rainfall (27.5 inches in one day). For these residents roads are closed and homes are flooded. Boats are shuttling supplies to residents stuck on the other side of road closures. Other communities on the North Shore, East Side (Coconut Coast), Lihue, South Shore and West Side are functional and helping out.
