The extraordinary sounds of Jake Shimabukuro’s ukulele master pieces will be heard on January 20th in Kilauea at Anaina Hou Community Park from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Gates open at 5:30. The opening act features Pure Heart which is a Hawaiian Contemporary trio that started as group of friends in 1994. Jon Yamasato (guitar/vocals), Jake Shimabukuro (ukulele) and Lopaka Colon (percussion) etched out a unique sound of Hawaiian/pop/latin/jazz which has been keeping the attention of audiences for almost 30 years. After disbanding in 2000, Jake went on to become one of the world’s most known and admired representative for the `ukulele around the world. Joining up again in 2014, the band casually gigs and continues to work on new music. Tickets are $40 to $60.
