Event Description
The 32nd Annual Eo e Emalani i Alakai goes virtual with the launch of an online video presentation. The event honors Queen Emma and her trek through the Alakai Swamp in 1871. Twenty hula halau (hula troops/schools) and musicians honor the Queen with performances filmed in their special places. Lesah Gail Merritt will reprise her role as Queen Emma with footage from 2019 showing the Queen and her party entering the Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow at Kokee State Park. The program will be put together and a link will be provided the week prior to the event on www.kokee.org and on Hui o Laka’s facebook page. A pdf event program will also be available.
