The Sierra Club, Kauai Chapter is leading two great hikes on Kauai’s east side this coming weekend.

Saturday, February 22:

Kuilau Ridge Trail: This hike is considered easy to moderate or 3.5miles with a 280 feet elevation change. It is a gentle steady walk on a wide path with sweeping view of lush valleys and Mount Waiʻaleʻale and Makaleha Mountain Ranges. This excursion offers great rewards without a lot of effort, including glorious views and ever-present bird songs. Hike to bridge and picnic tables for lunch. Sunday, February 23:
Nounou Mountain (AKA Sleeping Giant) — Ascent from the East: This is considered an intermediate hike of 3.2 miles with a 1,000 feet elevation change. Nounou Mountain dominates the Royal Coconut Coast and offers spectacular panoramic ocean, and interior mountain views. We will explore the east side and summit.
